Make a Difference. Every Day.
Do you want to work in a place where the child is at the center, where you are constantly learning new things? Then you are welcome to our wonderful team at the Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Department 1 in Malmö!
The Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Department 1 is part of the pediatric medicine area (VO). The department has 21 beds and cares for children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years, with a wide range of diagnoses. The patient groups we most commonly care for are within pediatric medicine, specifically in gastrointestinal care and endocrinology/diabetes, but we also care for patients in areas such as plastic surgery, surgery, and orthopedics.
With us, we work in teams, where each nurse and pediatric nurse/assistant together is responsible for a group of patients. We collaborate extensively across professional boundaries according to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Nordic standard for children and adolescents in health care (NOBAB), to provide the best possible care based on each child's and family's needs. We are proud of our work in the department and our pleasant team where laughter is close at hand. We believe that small progress is worth celebrating, and an open climate where everyone can ask questions and receive support is a given for us.
Even though the pace can sometimes be high, we find time for reflection and contemplation. We have fixed training days in our schedules.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We welcome a nurse for day and evening shifts to join us at the Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Department in Malmö!
With us, you will work as a nurse in a stimulating environment where the child and family are always at the center. Working with acutely ill children, aged 0 to 18 years, differs from regular care because the whole family is involved. The ability to collaborate with parents and involve them in the care is an essential and exciting part of our work. In your role, you will assess the need for and perform pediatric nursing work where you have close collaboration with your colleagues in the department. The department handles both acute and planned admissions, and the variety of diagnoses leads to varying lengths of stay.
As a new employee with us, you will receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experiences and wishes. We continuously work on professional development through regular training days, CPR and emergency drills, as well as opportunities for job shadowing. To promote participation and engagement and thus develop the unit, there is an opportunity to participate in or lead an area of responsibility during allocated work hours.
For you who are a newly graduated nurse, we offer a cross-functional training program that is conducted over a year in pediatric care, including group nursing supervision. The training program includes in-depth knowledge of both the healthy and the sick child, as well as a deepening within the broad area that pediatric medicine encompasses. The program consists of ten full days.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You also have language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale. If you have specialist competence in a relevant area and/or previous experience in pediatric care, it is an advantage for the position.
As a person, you contribute with your knowledge and willingness to collaborate. You thrive in a work environment where the pace can change quickly, and you feel joy in working with children and adolescents. Common to VO pediatric medicine is that we strive to be a team that sees, helps, and understands each other. We assume that everyone does their best, and the work is characterized by a positive attitude where we have direct communication and give praise to each other. To succeed in the position, it is also required that you have the ability to adapt to new situations and a willingness to work in a team-based manner. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
A background check will be conducted upon potential employment.
Warm welcome with your application. We look forward to your application and getting to know you!
